The impact of secure relationships plays a significant role in a child’s life. Having a strong attachment with a child is very important for a child’s emotional well-being.
Firstly, having a strong relationship with children makes them protected against depression. Children who have strong attachments with key people in their family are less likely to develop depression in childhood and later in life. Children who have secure relationships seem to be less affected by stress and find it easier to cope with changes that occur in their life. Therefore, it is the second most important aspect of children having strong attachments. If children have secure relationships it makes it easier for them to make friends and understand people’s thoughts and feelings. It is the third most important aspect as secure relationships build a better self-esteem for the child. When children have strong bond, they find it easier to manage their emotions in line with their age. As mentioned before, children who have secure relationships are likely to have stronger self-identity which supports the development of self-esteem and confidence. This is very important however the least important aspect of secure relationships. It is an important aspect because it allows children to be confident later in life.
