Stray dogs have become a big problem for us as a community. The number of stray dogs has dramatically risen over the past years. This is a problem because people see stray dogs going into the garbage on the street looking for food and they would rather look away, most of the people would say they don’t make the neighborhood look better just because they look dirty or unhealthy and would do anything just to see them gone.
However, I identified myself with this little animals. I moved to America. I had practically nothing. I didn’t know where I was going to sleep. I didn’t know what was going to happen to me. I was in a strange place away from home. I didn’t know the language and couldn’t talk to the people around me. It’s a horrible feeling not knowing what the future has prepared for one.
I was really fortunate, because I was able to improve my situation by getting educated and learning the language. I was considerably more fortunate in light of the fact that individuals like my English teacher Mrs. Ovalle who had confidence in me and connected with helping me raise myself up and become who I am. Things were awful, however, with the assistance of good people, they got better for me.
But here’s the huge distinction among me and strays dogs. I made the decision to come to America knowing there was going to be a rough beginning and I came with that idea in my mind. The millions of stray dogs that live on the streets around the world didn’t make that choice.
