I couldn’t sleep that night

I couldn’t sleep that night. The anxiety could not be suppressed and was preventing me from resting. The next day, however, I found my mind swarming with jumbled exhilaration. The adrenaline was flowing already. I checked my tennis bag one last time and headed in the car.

My opponent’s name was Fatima. She was the most phenomenal tennis player I had ever seen. Her strokes were incredibly swift and her feet were lightning. Her forehands and backhands were executed with near perfection. She wielded the power of a bear while appearing no larger than I. Despite that, I still had hope of vanquishing this incredible adversary.
