The author discusses about the Persuasive Effects of Pokemon Go on walking. He thinks the Pokemon Go game persuades more players to go out walking and exercise. And he firstly presents several persuasive game-design elements which the Pokemon Go game has and then uses an online survey that investigated whether Pokemon GO persuaded players to walk more and in particular which game-design elements had the highest influence on walking behavior to present the study results which contributes to the persuasive effects of Pokemon Go and the effect of game-design elements as well. To present that, the article proposes a conceptual model grounded in the literature on media and technology acceptance and supplemented by prior research on gaming, which is called U&GT and use a survey among 642 Pokemon Go players providing insights into the psychological drivers of mobile AR games to show the result that hedonic, emotional, and social benefits and social norms drive consumer reactions while physical risks (but not data privacy risks) hinder consumer reactions. This article deeply analyzes the framework AR applied in Pokemon GO and that is a great resource for those who wants to know AR framework from different aspects in a theoretical way.

The aim of this article is to introduce the key factors of the success of the Pokemon Go game. The article conducts in-depth interviews and two large-scale surveys with a total 1,437 respondents to investigate the consumer behavior of mobile app game players to show that the app game Pokémon Go is not only a social sensation but also as a high profitable business model. To support that point, it takes the theoretical lens of telepresence theory and social capital theory to explicate the success factors of Pokémon GO. Additionally, the theoretical framework also provides guidelines for practitioners who plan to enter the lucrative app game market, which is suitable for those who wants to develop a app game but without a rich experience.
